Great books help pass the time while awaiting the denouement
I hope Tolstoy’s short stories are in the Fast Eddy universe.
Apparently, we arent really book readers here. Probably because there is so much other fiction to consume.

Yes I suspect you are correct.... people are tuned into the daily soap operas provided by the Ministry of Truth... they are the fast food of 'literature'...
