Substack is polluted with articles and comments attacking Big Pharma and their ‘miracle cures’ for every disease under the sun. But Big Pharma is only responding to our demand for a pill to solve whatever ails us.
We decry the testing of new pharmaceutical products on humans, particularly when a volunteer gets wrecked. But we continue to demand immortality in a pill or a shot.
Are you ok with taking a drug that has not been tested in human trials? The alternative would be to stop the development of all new pharmaceuticals.
Another option would be to stop consuming processed foods and sugar, and keep alcohol consumption to a minimum. Don’t smoke. Exercise regularly. Toss the pills in the bin.
But nope. That’s too hard. Taking pills is easy. We like easy.
I know a number of people who have seriously high blood pressure - they are overweight, drink too much, and do zero exercise. Yet they insist that they do not have high blood pressure - because they take pills that control the disease. They see no reason to alter their lifestyle because the pills have fixed the problem.
The problem is that we cannot stop ourselves from cramming fast food, crisps and 3 for 1 pizza down our maws while reclining on the sofa enjoying re-runs of Dancing with Stars and American Idol. When then inevitable health issues arise from gluttony and sloth, we dial up an appointment with a doctor and demand an immediate solution.
Imagine what would happen to a doctor who refused to prescribe high blood pressure pills to a patient and instead insisted that they sort their diet out and get into a gym. That doctor would be cleaning public toilets for a living.
The latest craze is injecting substances that stop hunger allowing the obese to starve themselves thin. You asked for it - Pharma delivered.
Stop complaining. Nobody is forcing anyone to take what Big Pharma has on offer.
Hi Eddy,
I can't quite agree with your POV, but I guess you're just playing Devil's Advocate?
It would be fine if this was all there was to it. I say it's not.
As I see it, there are plenty of alternatives to popping pills. There are plenty of naturally-occurring medicines from plants and other sources that work just as well, and in many cases, much better than BP's BS 'products', (with less side-effects). Indeed, a huge percentage of BP's 'wonder drugs' are derived from naturally-occurring chemicals. But since BP & Co can't patent a naturally-occurring product, they analyse what they 'discover' (steal from Natural Medicine lore, etc) and tweak it slightly so they can patent the tweaked variant which they manufacture somehow. (Quite possibly from the original source...) That's about as close to cheating as F@#k is to swearing!
But it doesn't stop there. BP is simply a callous, money-making enterprise. It doesn't give a toss about anyone's health. And it's really only a cog in the machine of a much bigger money-taking enterprise.
It also spends large amounts of money on "marketing", not to mention manipulating the Medical Curriculum, so that doctors are taught virtually nothing else, beyond "Prescribe this for that." As I understand it, before Rockefeller got involved in US Medical Education, Natural Medicines and Homeopathy were very popular, but these are continually under attack, particularly Homeopathy, which I can confirm, is the most amazing healing system. It actually promotes the body to heal itself, unlike BP's 'Medicine', which generally attempts to usurp the body's natural healing systems. [Yeah, yeah! BS "Pseudo-science" claims it can't work, but Do you know!? People once thought the sun orbited the (flat) earth! And many still believe that vaccines work - think about that!]
I have a strong suspicion that those Blood Pressure Pills are in this same (usurping) category. Many years ago, I was admitted to hospital and prescribed steroids in a dismally feeble attempt to address an ailment that Modern Medicine could not touch. My prognosis was poor, as the illness was considered generally incurable. A week later I consulted a Homeopath, and after a very few doses of the prescribed Homeopathic remedy, I was on the mend. But then I learned about one of the dangers of medical drugs. Thinking I was cured, I stopped the steroids after a short taper-off period. Wrong!!! During just a single week on steroids, my adrenals had completely shut down, and took much longer than a week to resume their normal cortisol output. How long until they would have atrophied?
With this in mind, I know that people going on to Blood Pressure pills are told "You'll be on these for the rest of your life." Exactly what BP wants! Unavoidable, repeat business. But is it necessary? How long does it take for the body to resume its normal operation? Or, can it ever? Do the pills eventually destroy whatever organ(s) formerly controlled blood pressure? BP knows the answers, for sure. Just like Pfza knew.
As for slimming drugs - did we really demand them - or did someone market the hell out of crap (non-)foods and lazy, unhealthy lifestyles, watching drivel made for the purpose, until the people succumbed to all the never-ending indoctrination? Demand? Or foolishly submit? Noticed all the direct drug marketing happening these days? And the very clever campaigns by Ronald and friends?
While you might be right that no one is forcing anyone to take BP's dishonest products, they are surely doing their utmost to make sure we have no other choices. The TGA, for example. And the whole "C-19" production was exactly that, even enrolling/coercing/extorting(?) governments the world over, to impose BP's evil, toxic shit on their hapless citizens. In effect, Yep, Forcing people.
Pity they didn't know the true (old) meaning of mandate (Black's Law, some years back). A mandate is (also) a request to a subordinate, but if they agree to it, it becomes enforceable. Very like when a soldier volunteers to take on a certain, highly dangerous mission. As now I understand it. "It's all connected..."
I could go on, as this is all part of something much more, and it's not motivated by any desire to better humanity. Quite the contrary. We are under deliberate, precisely planned attack, and have been for (many) generations.
Please, keep up the good work! I might get around to a response to your 3 piles of BS in due course... ;-)
You make some good points. There is a certain level of personal responsibility for people to take control of their own health vs becoming wholly dependent on pharmaceutical products.
But what about mandating or forcing pharmaceutical products on citizens? When you can get government agencies to market/distribute your product and even subsidize it (medicare/medicaid/EUA "covered countermeasure"/emergency provisions/etc) that is a 100% guaranteed profit model for Pharma. Do you deny this? Do regular citizens have this type of marketing/distribution for health (or whatever) products they wish to sell?
edit: not to mention the moral implications of the government backing these things.
