In 2019, protected by a press pass, I spent a couple of months in the midst of the riots in Hong Kong. I watched as the police, unable to catch those throwing petrol bombs and bricks, resorted to mercilessly beating peaceful protestors. Brutal stuff.
One sunny, relatively quiet afternoon, I was following the riot police and got to chatting with two young ethnic Chinese officers who spoke perfect English with Canadian accents. Turns out they were born in Canada and had recently graduated from universities in Toronto, and had been recruited by the HK police force.
I queried them on their willingness to bash students who were struggling to attempt to enforce an agreement that had been reached between the British and Chinese governments guaranteeing the HK people certain rights and freedoms. Essentially rights similar to those that these two fellas enjoyed in Canada.
In a nutshell, they were big fans of the motherland informing me that these cockroaches could not be allowed to get in the way of the Chinese century. Therefore they had no qualms about pulling out their clubs and tear gas launchers, and putting down any resistance. Typical barnyard animals.
I regret not getting their contact information … so that we could you know.. stay in touch. Hopefully they participated in the ‘Chinese Century’ by purchasing homes in Hong Kong’s now collapsing property market :)

I do enjoy a bit of SCHAD from time to time.
Fuck the CCP. All they did was harass me when I lived there. Kinda like a couple of jackasses that commented on here previously.
Not a problem. Blocking is easy in peacetime.
When the financial/energy collapse comes everything will be in the real and now.
Trumpy will not save you. Neither will your brutally strong pink haired cousin named Trudy that voted for Harris.

Eddy, I'm realizing yours is one of my better Substack subscriptions. You pull no punches and you seem to be above board (i.e. not controlled opposition). As I whittle down my (too many) subscriptions, I will be keeping my FastEddy subscription. Your efforts are very much appreciated. Thank you!
