February , 2025 Three years on: How Russia's invasion reshaped energy prices across Europe - Three years ago, on 24 February, Russia invaded Ukraine. The war is still ongoing and has had a significant impact on energy prices, with the share of Russia's pipeline gas in EU imports dropping from over 40% in 2021 to about 8% in 2023, according to the European Council.
During the pre-invasion period, the average residential end-user electricity price in EU capitals was 20.5 c€/kWh, rising to 26.5 c€/kWh in the post-invasion period - an increase of 29.5%.
During this period, Amsterdam saw the highest increase, with electricity prices rising by 76%, followed by Rome (74%) and Vilnius (64%).

The Ministry of Truth is insisting that the sky high energy prices that are destroying economies and causing millions of fellas to turn off the heat and huddle like barnyard animals under blankets to keep warm are the result of the Ukraine War.
Meanwhile, other sources, including the Financial Times, are reporting that Russia has been delivering enormous quantities of gas to Europe.
It cannot be both. It… cannot… be … both.
To reiterate my earlier reiterations on this subject - the Ukraine War is Fake. The reason they are faking the war is because the Ministry of Truth does NOT want to tell the barnyard animals that we have burned up most of the affordable energy and we are fucked.
Instead they prefer to blame the Ukraine War for the high prices and tell the suffering proles that Peace in Ukraine would crush energy prices. Meanwhile the barnyard animals are reading about Trump’s fake clown world peace initiatives and humming ‘All we are saying … is give peace a chance…’ as they hunker down to another dinner of cat food.

I knew that was a fake war from Day 1. I wasn't sure exactly what they were hiding--figured it was bioweapon labs, but energy makes just as much sense. Alaska spent over 40 years flaring off natural gas in Prudhoe Bay, rather than capturing a valuable commodity. Companies only cared about sending crude down the pipeline. The Motherlode is almost gone; they are desperate to find another bonanza.
