This post and this movie takes me back to around 2016 when I watched the first season of "The Walking Dead" when I was living in an apartment complex. I was wondering why everyone was watching- I think it was on every Thursday night. It had more viewers, even more than pro NFL games. I stopped in to see what was the attraction. I never grew up with a televison, and never watch it now, not even sports, even though I was a football and wrestling "jock" in college. What a waste.
I think the whole idea of these walking zombies was almost a random arbitrary off the wall "vehicle" to create a situation where society could "legitimately" be disrupted, and small groups then be pitted against each other to procure supplies, food, guns, ammo, tools, shelter to survive. The series was thus more a commentary of what we will face in the future. No zombies, just other groups of desperate people in rival gangs vs those who are lone wolves. The series was almost an anaylsis of the different strategies and the types of maruaders groups would face, and survivors. But I guess I'll be gone by then....I hope.
Instead of the zombies, the writers could haveused space invaders, but War of the Worlds got there first. The show was NOT about the peculiarities of the zombies and how they could be dispatched only through a stake, knife or gunshot to the head and getting bitten by a zombie resulted in that person eventually turning into a zombie. Kind of how when politicians and liberals "bite" (indoctrinate or innoculate) the dumb public and instill socialism, ignorance, gullibility, and complete passivism or the libtard disease. People get brainwashed and become zombies. Either way, the result will be the same -eventually, when the food, energy, supplies start getting squeezed. How long is the incubation period? I don't know. I forgot how long it took people to turn into zombies after being bitten. Almost70 but in damn good health bicycling to the YMCA every day for weight training swimming, elliptical etc, and no health problems, no meds and at near optimum weight. No rat juice and fortunately convinced my 20 year daughter to see things the way I see them.
I now realistically figure my chances of dying are 50-50 from natural causes vs killed by gunfire in what James Wesley, Rawles the author of Survivalblog.com and the novel "Patriots, A story of Survival in the Coming Collapse" Rawles refers to as "The Crunch."
