A legislative solution, which will never happen, would start by reversing the tax codes (better yet, get rid of taxes and eliminate the FED altogether) so that productive earned income is rewarded tax free to the worker while passive money changing/financialization and with current favored low capital gains taxation rates (15%) would be increased to 90%.
The billionaire parasites of course will never let this happen, because they do no useful work, have no useful skills or services to offer society. They depend on corruption and passive income- or wealth extraction to make their billions.
The problem is when you have an unbacked fiat fractional reserve debt based system, "money" (currency) can be printed that allows these slimeball politicians to pay for the promises they make that get them re elected, as the voters never refuse a free lunch. They'll let future tax payers pay for it through debt- or actually- lower living standards and currency debasement. These politcians become magnets for corporate influence money and a fascist system (now called corporatism) snowballs. Corporate capture.
But if you were to tax capital gains at 90% instead of 15% then you would discourage investment you might argue.
Except what are we investing in? EVs, the military and industrial comples, Remdesivir via scumbags like Ramsawamy, Fauci, Musk, etc. Seems to me we are encouraging mal-investment. This should be disincentivized through a reversal of the tax codes/rates.
Any meaningful new industry should be so compelling that it can withstand a 90% capital gains tax and risk, not a unicorn sales pitch and rely on sucking in lots of fiat dollars printed by the FED. This would weed out all the financial chicanery which is consuming us.
In nature, animals get just enough food to survive and reproduce, or in some cases like migrating salmon or hibernating bears, who need to temporarily put on enough fat to sustain them during the upstream migartion or harsh winter. Same way with humans, except we have a shell game of "currency creation" which distorts this energy/materials/ resources allocation. Eat all you want you Wal Mart Jabba the Hut glutton. Society can borrow from the future peons to pay for your electric cart, your bariatric surgey, your pannectomy of your obscene apron gut, and you heart attacks- as long as you vote. We know you don't work because you ate yourself into disability. Reminds me of a friend way back during the Viet Nam draft who ate himself to successfully out fat the draft.
